Country Home Tour

When a House Becomes a Dream Home

This Country Cottage features covered front and rear porches with charming picket railing and is one of Dave Lawson’s favorite in-house designs. Built in 2005 this is a lovely variation of the original floor plan. What a pleasure it was to re-visit this country home years after construction was completed. Thoughtfully set on a hilltop overlooking oak trees and an adorable red barn, this Lawson home turned out truly charming. Owner, Channa greeted me as I pulled into the drive with a welcoming smile.

The landscape has tastefully been shaped to complement the home and add to the ambiance of country life. Tall maple trees and a garden set off to the side of the house overflowed with ripe vegetables and strawberries!

Curious sheep watched as I explored the house and property with Channa listening to her talk of the home building process and what she’s done with her home since. Chickens scattered as we approached the little red barn.

The barn, also built by Lawson Construction was her favorite part of the tour. Channa told me stories of working with owner Dave Lawson to design the small red barn pictured above. It was designed to specifically meet her needs and the family of sheep pictured above love their home. A unique elephant weathervane sets with pride atop of this charming red barn. Channa smiled as she shared with me the story of how her son had surprised her with the elephant weathervane. The elephant was the last thing we expected and she couldn't be more happy with it! Looking at it with her, I could see the unique beauty and feel the fond memory associated with the piece. Turns out an elephant weathervane is perfect in a country California setting.

It is always special to see a Lawson home truly become our clients real life dream home. Read Channa’s testimonial.
